As Link is specially intended to be considered a "silent protagonist", just like Mario from the Mario franchise and couple of other Nintendo protagonists for instance Samus Aran or Purple (from Metroid and Pokémon, respectively), he only displays distinct grunt and yell vocalizations and as a consequence seemingly does not speak. Having said that,
